Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I document my wanderlust in travel and food. Hope you have a nice stay!

five

This may be the longest I’ve continuously been home for over a decade. I honestly cannot remember the last time. It’s been nice but have the itch to get back on the road and explore. I don’t think I was meant to be at home (at least, not like this). Not sure where the first place I’d want to go. I think the top of my list would be either Seoul or Singapore (being one of the more safer places to visit during this time). I would like to make it back to either Europe or South America, but not feeling too confident with those locations for the near future.

I just can’t believe we’re global at this point with a minimum of 1.8M known confirmed and a minimum 115k known deaths. I wonder if this is Mother Nature’s way of saying “I’ve had enough and we have to make some changes here”. I think this may cause some leveling with pollution/climate change, but I don’t think there will be long-term behavior change. I expect people to quickly go back to their norm once this equalizes and there’s a known vaccine to this. It does feel odd for me to think this way when I’m typically more of an optimist - but that just seems real. And that’s sad.

  • Currently watching: Succession via HBO - Haven’t quite finished the first season yet, one episode left. Curious to see what they roll out for their storyline for S2 and S3. To quote the infamous Notorious B.I.G - mo money mo problems.

  • Currently listening: Power Hour on Spotify - Still got this running.

  • Currently reading: Moonwalking with Einstein by Joshua Foer - I’m at 60% of the book and not sure if I’m getting much besides the author’s “journey” through his experience in getting to the World Memory Championship. I do have some takeaways like simplifying and visualizing but doesn’t get into to the true theory/methodology to apply. I think the closest was the Palace Method. I have three chapters left so we’ll see if the remaining items covers any other processes.
